This particular magazine is aimed at college students and is easily noticible by the bold mast head in the centre of the front page with the name "The College Issue".

Another factor that would attract the target audience of college students is the scrap book effect on the cover of random photographs, colour, and text in all different shapes and sizes. This represents a students scrap book or a collage effect being like a piece of work.

The photos include younger people so they immediately know it is aimed at their age group andthe kind of people that would read it.

Beat magazine also has the same target audience as the first magazinen being teens/students.
I notice that the mast head which is always the largest text on the cover of the magazine has been covered up by a young, attractive woman looking sexually appealing as she is wearing nothing on the top half of her body. This factor would increase the number of male buyers as at this age they've not long become sexually active.
By having the name of a very famous person in bold attracts the attention of young females because of her popular music making towards the audience of younger people and for the males because "Jennifer Lopez" is associated with being a very good looking young woman.
By including in bold, bright writing the fashions that are coming in for the next season approaching it attracts the attention of female students who most all of them are interested in fashion and are very concious about what they look like so this advertisement is basically saying to buy the new fashion.

Audience Profile
The reader is of the male gender. He is at sixth form college. He is a regular 16-18 year old boy who enjoys all the things in life that everyday college students enjoy like drinking, sex and going out with friends into town at the weekends. He is also looking for his ideal girl to start dating and needs help on trying to find her. He also wants to start to learn to drive as he has just passed his 17th birthday and has had his first car off his parents for his main birthday present. He would like all of the latest fashion and designer clothes and the latest music in the charts right now. He would over all be laid back in the week and come alive at the weekend and be out going and always up for a laugh.
